Group stage of the 3rd Republican Ice Hockey Amateur Competitions for the prizes of the President’s Sports Club finished with games in Grodno and Mogilev. One of the matches determined the last team in the best four. Third consecutive year Grodno team leaves intrigue until its last match. In the debut competition they managed to be among to get into the final found. Last year they failed to beat the team of Vitebsk region and presented tickets to the final to their opponents. Today hockey amateurs from Grodno managed to get a draw in the match with Minsk region team - 4:4 (it was their third draw in six games). That result was in favor of the hosts and it closed the way into quartet of the best to one of the favorites - ice hockey players from the Minsk region. Mogilev hosted two hockey squads from the bottom of the ranking table. Team of Mogilev region failed to gain their first victory in the competition and to leave the last place in the tournament for their opponents. Guests won in close fight with a score - 3:4.
Ranking
Regarding the ranking table four finalists are: Team of the President of the Republic of Belarus (winner of the First competitions), Gomel region team (winner of the Second competitions), Grodno region team and Brest region team (debutant of the final round). The final stage of the tournament will be held in Minsk on April 10-11, 2010. On the fist day in semi-final games will meet teams from Grodno and Gomel regions (3.00 pm) and team of the President of the Republic of Belarus will face Brest region team (7.00 pm). On the second day spectators will watch the game for the 3rd place (3.00 pm) and the final game (7.00 pm).
