Two finalists of the last season - team "Rubezh" and "Stroitel" opened the anniversary 10th Minsk Ice Hockey Amateur Championship. Champion once again proved its status - 6:1 (1:0, 1:1, 4:0).

Jubilee tournament kicked off with a record number of participants. 14 teams, divided into two divisions, will battle for the trophy for eight months on the ice rinks of the capital. Traditionally the first teams that came on ice in the championship were two best teams of the last season. And again their performance made the audience applause for the sparkling and exciting play. Various combinations, unexpected shots, great reaction of goalies and beautiful goals - all that was on the ice rink of the HC “Yunost-Minsk".

The meeting itself proceeded on the familiar scenario. Two periods teams had a tough struggle, but the third was fully after "Rubezh". It got its first victory in the championship. Andrei Kovalev scored the first goal of the championship and did it0 in his tremendous style. Interrupting a dangerous opponents attack in own zone the head coach of "Minsk Zubry" (MHL) took the puck to the zone of "Strotel" and made a powerful and successful shot behind Alexander Grozov. Deservedly he became the best player of the game in the winners squad. Sergei Lantratov was named as the best player of the game in team “Stroitel”.
