Opening game of the Fourth Republican Ice Hockey Amateur Competitions for the prizes of the President’s Sports Club between President`s Hockey Team and Grodno region finished with draw - 4:4. Start of the game was a bit confusing for the hockey players from west region. Andrei Astashevich opened his scoring account on the very first minute. His efforts were supported by teammates Andrei Kovalev and Pavel Bely - 3:0.That numbers were on the scoreboard in the middle of the first period and team of Grodno region decided to replace the goalkeeper. Goalies rotation made a proper effect. Grodno team secured the own net and started to disturb the goalkeeper of the President`s team Boris Tortunov. Soon guests reduced the gap and by the middle of the third period took the leadership role - 3:4. An expected storm of the hosts brought only one goal, made by Andrei Astashevich, who traditionally became the best scorer of the game (2 goals + 1 assist).
Draw allowed the team of the Grodno region to take very important point against the favorite and confirmed the silver success in the previous competition. The best players of the game were recognized: goalkeeper Boris Tortunov (President`s hockey team) and forward Alexander Matskevich (team of Grodno region). Game between Gomel region team and Minsk region team also ended in a draw - 4:4. Organizers of the Third Republican Ice Hockey Amateur Competitions for the prizes of the President’s Sports Club are:
