Minsk meets karate masters

From 1st to 2nd of October Minsk Football Hall hosted the participants of the 7th international tournament "Minsk Open Karate Championship "Sanker Cup"-2011.

Representatives from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia and Palestine arrived to the capital of Belarus to show their skills.

550 athletes from 55 clubs during two days determined the best in 46 categories. In addition to the main awards special prizes were awarded. Public Association "Belarusian Karate Federation" established prizes in the categories "Best Debut" and "Youngest participant."

Among girls the striking debut of Anastasia Vastchukova (Ukrainian Karate Federation) and Alexander Cherniaev (SC "Shotokan" Kupyansk, Ukraine) was   acknowledged by organizers. The youngest participant was Eugeniy Rybakin  (BFTK, Minsk, Belarus). 

The traditional prizes from President`s Sports Club received Dmitry Negaturov (Club "Tiger", Odessa, Ukraine) for "Best technique", and Zhanna Melnik (Ukrainian Karate Federation) for "Will to Win." 

The Belarusians won 53 medals: 8 gold, 15 silver and 30 bronze.
