Grant holders of the Republican State and Public Association “President’s sports club” continue to confirm their status with solid results on major sports competitions.

From January 2011 promising Belarusian athletes participated in more than 200 international competitions. Only on the basis of performance at the World and European championships and World Cup stages the club's grant holders won 77 medals (31 gold, 21 silver and 25 bronze). 

Three of them stepped on podium during the last weekend at the World kayak and canoe championships in Hungary. Pavel Medvedev won silver medal, Olga Khudenko and Irina Pomelova got bronze.

It is worth to note the achievements of the disabled athletes. Grant holders of the President`s Sports Club Igor Bokiy only in one competition (European Swimming Championships) became the winner in four disciplines!

Most of the grant holders improved their performances compared with last year, and that resuls can allow to re-apply next year. Some sportsmen continue preparations for the main starts of the year - World and European Championships to be held in near future.

Let us remind that in 2011 President`s Sports Club grants are paid to 162 athletes, disabled athletes and coaches representing 31 kinds of sport, mainly from the Olympic program.

President`s Sports Club prepares for the next grants appointment in 2012 to support young and promising athletes and coaches of the Republic of Belarus. The plans of the club are to increase as the number of grant holders as well as the project budget. It is planned that in 2012 the total project funding will be increased by at least 75 percent.
