Dozens of games, hundreds of goals, thousands of fans and strong victorious traditions… In 2007 the ice hockey team of the President of the Republic of Belarus has noted ten years' anniversary. In July, 1997 the ice team of the Head of State held the first training and opened new page in history of world hockey. For the first time in many years of existence of this popular kind of sport, the Leader of the country appeared on ice as a part of the team. Alexander Lukashenko shows by his personal example, that health of the nation is everyone's responsibility. First number on a hockey jersey of the Head of State is rather symbolical.
Ice hockey team of the President of the Republic of Belarus is a unique team. Ice hockey veterans and young players, former professionals and amateurs, the Leader of the country and ordinary citizens play together for one team. All of them are united by faithfulness and devotion to their favourite game, sports passion and will to win.

This team has received lots of enthusiastic responses from hockey world stars, fans and journalists. The geography of wins of the President's hockey team impresses not less, than its win series. Team succeeded in friendly games with hockey veterans of the USSR, the USA, Sweden, Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Austria and Latvia. Veterans of NHL club Detroit Red Wings, Dynamo Moscow, Avangard" Omsk, Dynamo Minsk and Yunost also became aware of the power of the President's hockey "druzhina".

The world press is not just observes the games of the unique ice team. So, hockey team of journalists "Russian Press" challenged the President's team twice and both times suffered defeat. "We have seen for the first time with our own eyes and have become convinced in the seriousness of sports passion of the President of the Republic of Belarus. It is an excellent example for all country which has declared the priority of the program of the health improvement of people", - Russian journalists admitted.

However, on the account of the President's ice team are not only games with eminent contenders. Successful series of wins of the team challenged the Belarusian youth. Ice hockey team of Minsk students initiated a friendly game. And again the victory remained behind the ice hockey team of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

Last voyage of the team to Moscow was successful as well. In capital of Russia two victories were defeated: team of prefecture of Northeast administrative district and above a combined team of prefectures of Moscow city administration. And there was no chance to take revenge for the loss in Belarus. Team of the Head of the state has celebrated the anniversary with the next bright victory on June, 16, 2007. 14:4 - with this score team of prefecture of Northeast administrative district of Moscow was defeated on arena of the Minsk sports palace.

From the moment of creation the President's sports club acts as the organizer of friendly games of the ice hockey team of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
"We have done everything right by creating this team. Everybody knows about it and not just in hockey countries. It is not only a hobby, it is politics as well", - was marked by Alexander Lukashenko many times.
