In Christmas International Tournaments Belarus is traditionally represented by the team of the Head of State that has won five gold and two silver medals over the last seven years and has proved to be one of the strongest teams of the competition.
The ice squad of the President of Belarus was founded in 1997 and has a history of participation in many tournaments and exhibition games, e.g. with old-timers from USSR National Team or NHL club Detroit Red Wings.During the season the team has an intense game practice schedule. The Christmas International Tournament is the most important event in the sports calendar. The squad takes it seriously and aims high. One of the most important steps of the preparation is the Republican Ice Hockey Amateur Competitions for the Prize of President’s Sport Club in which six teams from all regions of the country take part.
