    Slovenia

Teams from Slovenia have not participated in Christmas Tournaments before, so this year is going to be an experiment. Will Slovenians manage to compete with more experienced opponents from their group, Canada, Russia and Czech Republic? The fans will only get the answer to this question at ice rinks.

The majority of players of this team are former professionals who played in Yugoslavian, Slovenian and Italian clubs. The most experienced player is the team captain Albin Felc, who participated in 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics and has played 155 games for the Yugoslavian national team. Other players with international experience first in team Yugoslavia and then in team Slovenia include defensemen Joze Kovac, Miha Rebolj, Boris Kuncic, Domen Lajevec and forwards Diko Stevic, Andrej Razinger, Peter Rozic, Luka Zagar, Dusan Lepsa and Egon Murič. Team goaltender Jure Penko has played in minor leagues in North America and was drafted by Nashville Predators.

“Slovenian team is a good team and we would play fair and have a lot of fun on ice in Minsk”, - says Albin Felc.

Along with the team will come another guest, Ernest Aljancic, IIHF Council member, Honorary Consul of Belarus in Slovenia and a great friend of our hockey.
